Or just that all your apps in company live under .internal.example.com so you can just ssh app1 withouth much fuss. Now it is kinda broken because of SSL certs pretty much having to have fqdn or else they're useless.

It's interesting to see monitoring industry solving the same problems that were solved back in the old bad Nagios days, in much of the same way too

That only works if expression isn't purposefully vague or misleading, which most of corpo PR speak is. "Taking responsibility" (taking care of the kid) of condom breaking is a bit different than "taking responsiblity&quo

That's what they think they are saying. What it actually means is "It is my mistake that I admit is mine, you get fucked, I keep my chair and take zero actual consequences for it"

It does look awfully like the async/await mess languages with bad concurrency adopted as a crutch for not having good concurrency. Erlang/Golang model of superlight "threads" exchanging messages appears to be much better

> When Scala was "hot", it was embraced by very good programmers. The complexity of the language sort of demanded it. And reverse of that worked for Perl, then PHP, then JS (and arguably also Python/Ruby)

Running it at Raspberry Pi would cost you 8k. There is like nothing where that would be cheap. Even if you looked for something that has very high IPC and clock rate.... the CPU with that will have at least 4 cores if not more.

I dunno, Haskell, sure, but Rust is just all around better C++... memory safety is just plainly less bugs and that's always desirable

The cost for the license would be more than the cost for the hardware to run it tho. We're talking literally doubling, maybe more, of the costs.

Coz you want to make $25 mil in revenue instead of $20 mil in revenue. The cost is so high actually forking and developing the fork is probably cheaper. Especially for a big company. Imagine app costing you 100k in hardware, 1 mil yearl

It is absolutely memory-bound, just not memory size -bound but memory- speed -bound. IIRC few of their blogs go into detail, where data layout and way to access it was main limit, not actual computation speed for some operation

They simply know the storage limit is the one users will most likely exceed first so having all of it bundled instead of separate price for storage and for "compute" would net them less money. From their perspective it's basi
