I have a vivid memory of myself swallowing pennies when I was probably 4. I think I saw my dad pretend to do it for a magic trick or something. I did it in secret … For all I know it’s still there. :)

The PayPal forgot password form had this bug just a couple years ago. I changed my password to a generated one. And it was too long. But it didn’t tell me. Just silently truncated. I used the password reset to change it. This time I used a

You just blew my mind. What a great comparison. I love it. Thanks for that thought. What a clear way to describe the problem.

It’s worth noting that if you plugged them in via USB they always worked. It’s the wifi (not BT) connection that never worked off-platform.

We’ve done almost all our Christmas shopping there for years (younger kids). Still were able to do a lot of it there this year (tween to young teen age groups). The toys there are some of our favorites (Lego and Calico Critters) and they ha

I’m still amazed at how many people are able to get their dr to prescribe them antibiotics just by asking. I knew someone who had a cold and said “but I asked my Dr for some antibiotics and I’m taking DayQuil so I’ll be better in a day or t

The language has definitely evolved a lot from then. But so have the major frameworks. While not perfect, building a web app in spring boot is a whole world better than doing the same using Java-6 era frameworks.

I’ve also been annoyed by this. I don’t have it handy but I did find the ticket where their conversation to implement this first happened. I guess before it would just update without notifying the user. The idea in that conversation was, at

My wife has a saying, “you don’t get what you want unless you ask for it” Similar I’ve heard “if you ask you might not get it. If you don’t ask, you definitely will not” Even if the OP didn’t get their guitar, what did they lose by trying?

This reminds me: in 2015 I went to Dockercon and one booth that was fun was VMWare's. Basically they had implemented the Docker APIs on top of VMWare so that they could build and deploy VMs using Dockerfiles, etc. I've casually se

To be fair, I think it's a lot different to see a startup disrupt a market, than to see one of the biggest companies of all time do it. Anti-competitive behaviors from a behemoth are scary. From a startup? I mean... what can they do? U
