I agree, elaborated in a comment in this tree. Doesn't mean that it's not going to happen though, for a while at least, in some places.

Call it what you want, I just called it future because it's already reality for some, clearly. I don't know about you, but for me the amount of ads I see decreased compared to some points in the past. I don't watch TV, I list

Here's a thought experiment. Imagine those screens weren't on the coolers themselves, but on a wall nearby. And coolers were just coolers, let's say horizontal ones with frozen stuff you can't clearly see at a glance. Ho

Depends on where you live. I don't think I'll be seeing those in quite a while personally, but in the land of unbridled capitalism... You tell me.

I think they are drink coolers without any moving parts (well I guess there's a compressor), not vending machines. I bet there are cameras everywhere and you're expected to self-checkout. Or just check-out at a counter. I recent

They probably want to advertise something else, something someone else would pay them for to advertise. It can easily be made to detect if someone is near and making their choice, but otherwise they can be part of a larger ad.

No, because then "be flat" part would be lost.

Works just fine, I can read it all and post a screenshot as proof, you gotta use it properly. But it might depend on location and IP. Did you register just to leave this remark? How odd.

There are products where B stands for 'be' in combination with 'gone'. So in a way it says "be flat" as a program invocation, it's not just about notes if you ask me.

There's enough smoke there, that my vote is a 'no' on whether to get a cat or cats, especially if small children might be involved at some point.

Use a browser with a "stop loading" button and press it before overlay obscures the page. Esc works too. I guess it helps if your internet isn't blazing fast, it depends on the site and needs a bit of practice, but on this on

They don't need to brick anything, they can just throttle those that match for a bit. Cloudflare are not in a business of blocking people, they just need to protect sites from being overwhelmed by bots.

It doesn't have to be 100% impenetrable to do its job most of the time and make it economically not viable with scale. Biggest issue is expecting a big chunk of users to actually have a FIDO2 token. They would have to be as ubiquitous

I'm holding off buying WebAuthn stuff until fabled YubiKey Bio comes out since WebAuthn support is still so insignificant even compared to TOTP. But big players like Cloudflare supporting it might change the picture.

Sure, but Google makes their own browser. Why they didn't have an opt-in option to open Office formats with Google Docs long time ago? That's what puzzles me.

It's all pointless, it will win out eventually because it makes sense and Google isn't about to stop tracking you regardless of FLoC. All it does is disincentivizes smaller players from doing their own tracking which you'll h

It's thawing out with or without people being there, it's just a matter of time. Do you really think ex-permafrost shouldn't be studied? Hopefully with pandemic still ongoing there will be more precautions, that's all.

If you're copy-pasting passwords as you mentioned you've already lost 'theoretical hole' game. Everything that has any sort of basic privileges on your machine can read a clipboard as soon as you put something there. >
