Not quite too, it's a compiler release (Rakudo), but ordinary users should stick to a distribution with common modules (Rakudo Star). Usually comes a few days after.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should, but Perl isn't a kind of language that's going to stop you.

It's not a Rakudo specific VM, it's NQP specific VM, as I understand it. Rakudo is written using NQP and Perl 6. You can implement other languages using NQP same way as Rakudo is done. https://github.com/perl6/

I don't think he's saying that it is ready for production just yet. I don't want to piss on this parade, it's certainly a milestone, but there are problems too.

Someone (Darren Shepherd?) compared Docker to Ajax. It's not a technological breakthrough, it's another kind of breakthrough. I think it was here [1], but deleted now. [1] http://ibuildthecloud.tumblr.com/post/

Well there's XProc. But as with everything XML - you shouldn't really edit it by hand without proper editor support at the very least (preferably DTD/XML Schema aware).

PowerShell is cool, I wish it was more popular. I also wish that XProc was more popular too, but XML is a big no-no on the Web nowadays.
