I'd be fine with that if they were using LKVM (from kvmtool) or that new Firecracker. But as far as I can tell most projects in this area use QEMU still, which is an outstanding piece of software, but doesn't scream micro-vm to me

I read the question more broadly, same as syntheticcdo at the top there. In my opinion learning Nix/NixOS is easier and more productive than learning general Linux administration. These kinds of panels are half-measure.

I don't know if there is one, probably wouldn't be that hard to make if anyone actually bothered. At the end of the day what is simpler that modifying a text file? You can search for options and default values here https:/&#

I wish something like that existed for various single-board computers that are getting popular nowadays. Any sort of flexibility would be welcome, writing big images on a SD card gets old very fast. Yes, many things probably won't boot

Have you read/listened to this? https://getsol.us/2018/10/27/in-full-sail I'm hopeful, it's great to have BDFL at the start, but community takeover should and does happen at some point. Maybe

Well they changed stuff recently, new domain, new ISO. I hope that means they got their act together, it's a great project overall.

I'm not saying that writing for Javacards is easy, but that's not the problem here. There is plenty of software written already https://github.com/EnigmaBridge/javacard-curated-list It's just didn't

I'm not entirely sure what he means by that, but SIM-cards are smartcards. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subscriber_identity_module#/me... And you can buy smartcards in this formfactor e.g. https://

Smartcards aren't dead, they are all around us in sim cards and credit cards. > They died when everybody ditched Java applets for web. How's that relevant? Are you saying no one uses Java anymore?

You mean YubiKey? I know, but it's hard for me to view YubiKey as anything other than a proprietary solution. It's great they built a business out of it, but at the same time I want open-source options to exist.

I think I'll install Chromium on my old notebook that hasn't died yet (Samsung R40, that old). But if I decide to buy a new one I'd make sure that VFIO works on it, once you cross that bridge there's no reason to go back

It depends, that's why I'm asking. There isn't much difference between 6 or 12 or 24 to me for something you buy one of, especially if $24 gets you something much better (e.g. I'd rather buy Orange PI that supports Andro
