So much negativity on this thread! I'd rather figure out what this guy did right and take steps to implement some of those things into my life. It's easy to take pot-shots at people and harder to admit that someone might have foun

Great point here. Never stop interviewing, always maintain your network connections, and make sure development that you do is associated with your personal brand so that it's portable. There's always a company willing to pay you m

If you buy slightly nicer luxury-ish vehicles (M-series BMW, E/S class Mercedes, Audi, Porsche) the extended warranties are unbeatable. It's nice getting a Porsche Cayman rebuilt for $150 deductible because you purchased a $4500 1

This 1000 times. Dealers are unnecessary middlemen and provide no value added service. They are a protected cartel and serve to disenfranchise regular, every-day car buyers. My last vehicle was purchased using TrueCar (truecar.com) and I hi

None of us 'need' money after a certain point but everyone's perceived 'enough' is different. Some of us love having a good chunk of money and the amazing opportunities that it brings.

I would assume anyone looking at a 4 day work week probably isn't constrained by the arbitrary (American) 40-hour work week, or wouldn't care to be.

Vagrant is a very well developed tool and has tons of configurations available in the Vagrantfile. It does take a lot of time to get deep into it however. When coupled with Chef's Test Kitchen, vagrant is a powerful tool. Side note; th

Disclaimer: I'm a traveling consultant and rent 20-25 days out of a month. AirBnB is a glorified rental service. That being said, I like it because I get more room for less money, and hotel prices/taxes/locations are usually

I still prefer Uber because it's nicer than Lyft. Not uberx of course, but even then uberx is basically on par with all Lyft drivers. If I'm paying for a car service, I don't derive much value from a fist bump. I want a bot

There's even a trend for US grads relocating to developing economies. A lot of us (me included) have found very interesting work/life arrangements in places with lower taxes, lower rent and higher salaries (relative to cost of liv

I've never revealed my salary, it's irrelevant, and I always get higher than average offers. I've jumped past peers quickly by using this strategy. Hiring managers can get bent if they don't want to pay you what you&#x27

Bloated governments are grasping at straws. Look at the US with FATCA, taxing it's citizens wherever they are. I prefer to keep socking away savings in my offline bitcoin account and then exchanging it for Euros when I'm back home
