Simplicity. A real CPU is way more complicated than the toy cpus used.

yeah. you can get pretty far with it. i remember doing a similar experiment where I used just cowboy and plug without a framework (ie pheonix) when playing with elixir.

Why not use something like cowboy?

This is not about preference about where you work (ie maybe not all good engineers prefer WFH). This is about fkexibility ane accountability. People don't like being jerked around. Don't like being forced to do stupid things that

Most researchers cannot agree on what consciousness is. If we cannot even get a straight, agreed upon answer on what consciousness is how can we actually make these sorts of claims?

which one would make you more angry: 1) being mugged in full daylight in an area with low crime rate (maybe near where you live) 2) being mugged walking in a dark alley somewhere in the "bad" part of the town? How about if you cho

Back when windows 98 was a thing (targeting the same annoying roommate): 1) there was a way to limit the amount of RAM windows used. It was a setting. Set it to 25% and watched him try to debug. Eventually he figured out that the game he wa

Yeah. It's not the same thing by far. Amazoj deliberately chose to pour all income into expanding. On paper they did not have profit but they could at any point turn a profit by halting the expansion.

It's bs. It's well known that uncooked/undercooked morels can cause this. Food poisoning is not this rare thing that happened to hit this crummy place in Montana. It's non-news.

Imho, the license change didn't cause this. It was an attempt to make money. At that point they were already in trouble.

What a bunch of bs. Deadly morel but nobody died. Sounds like 50 people got food poisoning. Sounds like non-news to me. First: morels can make you sick if not cooked properly, Second: lookup how many people get food poisoning each year. And

The effect is not new. We have known about it ever since we've had basic machine learning. The way to look at it is somewhat novel but not surprising at all.

It does not. Modulus is only defined for integers. The point was that the 5 7 or 7 5 does not matter when you are looking at the remainder. Modulus in this case means divide into 7 parts and when you cannot divide anymore keep the reminder.

> This also makes sense when you consider modulus operator. 37 % 7 gives 2 meaning 5 groups of 7 with 2 remaining in the last group. Where is this coming from? The modulus is just integer division with a remainder. If you use your theory

You cannot really be cloud agnostic these days - even when using k8s. So learning to use the capabilities the cloud provides is key.

Why not just use an autoscaling group? Re: cleverness trap. I feel like this is the tragedy of software development. We like to be seen as clever. We are doing "hard" things. I have way more respect for engineers that do "sim
