I've been using them with no issues for the past 3 months or so. I priced out AWS just for kicks and it would end up costing us around 15x more from the $174/month at OVH. At least for me, the cloud has a long way to go before pri

The passwords seem to have come from somewhere else. My email is on the list, but the password is wrong and actually matches the one I use for throwaway accounts.

Never had any security issues with WordPress, and I run it on a fairly popular site. The auto updating feature is actually great for a site you won't be working on daily. Also I think the WP core is well secured. It's when you sta

Yeah... the food estimate is one of the things they got right, at least in my experience. Have four people living in our house right now and we spend about $250-300/week on food. All healthy stuff, I avoid a lot of canned food. That do

Not surprising. The MBP Retina suffers from such lag as well, unless you go for the top of the line model with the dedicated graphics card. 2160X1440 res is too much for these integrated chips to handle.

I have one. It's the best monitor I've ever used. And I've went through a lot of monitors, including the 4K Dells. Maybe it isn't an issue on OSX, but with a 4K 32" fonts were too small unless I upped the DPI in Win

Right, in most cases though those holes are easily plugged. When switching over to CF don't use an IP that was ever public-facing for your site, use distributed systems like Amazon SES for sending email, etc. I imagine the things you m

How would they find the IP if you don't have it used in any DNS records? Unless Cloudflare exposes the real IP at times and you've taken all the proper preventative measures I don't see how this is possible...

Doesn't seem like Nginx Plus is hugely different from the open-source offering. I don't get the backlash. You are paying mostly for support - not the product. I'm fine with that.

Yup, everything I access on Google was down... App Engine, Page Speed CDN, Gmail, YouTube, Analytics. Surprising to be honest, wonder what happened.

For US accounts you need to be verified just to get any money into the system - at least through wire transfer or Dwolla ( the most popular methods)

They aren't doing poorly at all, whatever the cause of these departures is it's not money related. Being private they don't release hard figures but Newell has said they make more money per employee than Apple or Google. Steam itself is not

Doubtful. Valve has higher revenue per employee than Google or Apple. If there's anything Valve lacks, money is last on the list.

How are his products illegal? It's not like Skydrive and Google Drive are devoid of pirated content. Also Megaupload was a very valuable service back in the day when there wasn't many upload providers around..

Why not show AdSense ads to visitors that click on through Google? Would be surprised if this doesn't cover their costs, and it would not affect return visitors for the most part.

I'm willing to bet Wikipedia uses far more bandwidth than Reddit. Reddit barely hosts any images, it's mostly just all text, plus plenty of sites hotlink Wikipedia images.

I agree, been with SL for 3 years, never had an outage apart from a drive failure one time but it was fixed within an hour.

I'm really not feeling this design. It's not bad, by any means, but it seems a little too flashy for what's supposed to be a knowledge base.

More trouble than it's worth. Plus, none of these solutions actually prevent site scraping... if the person is dedicated enough, they'll find a way. The time spent on implementing any of these approaches would be much better spent on site
