How complicated your query have to be to run into these QSA bugs? Don't forget that you are paying a very high performance cost for compatibility. I mean, how many people are still on Chrome 21 and Firefox 3.5?

Nope. jQuery 2 just removed code for IE 6/7/8. Nothing was added. Code sized reduced, but almost the same performance. My benchmark shows only 10-15% improvement. That's nothing compared to using the DOM API straight up.

1) Zepto is POS. It offers the illusion of jQuery compatibility while delivering only maybe 80% of it. You simply cannot reverse-engineer something 100% without doing everything the original does, so you might as well use jQuery. 2) In 2014

PHP 4 and PHP 5 weren't compatible either. How come migration was so much more successful over there than Python 2 to Python 3?

Scala also was often not source compatible during 2.7 -> 2.8 because of the huge changes in the standard library.

I see the repo the Github Docs points to is a fork of https://github.com/DynoSRC/dynosrc , which one is actually the canonical repo? BTW, how does differential updates do under minification? Don't the differences u

package.json doesn't have any place to define the styles and templates your component exports, so browserify can't meaningfully resolve dependencies and build your assets for you. For really good support, you'll need to be ab

I've written about JS modules in the past. https://medium.com/what-i-learned-building/5a31feb15e2 While I think OP's link is quite informative, I think it suffers from the same oversight as most others on thi

Does anyone know why pretty much all of the PARC's successors choose to orient their monitors in "landscape" mode as opposed to "portrait" as was done on the PARC? Reading and working is so much easier in portrait m

Whoa I sense passive-aggressiveness :) I'm still waiting for those benchmarks. The code is very clean and simple I was just picking bones. The use case seems to be overly specific tho. Is there any other example use cases where this li

I'm baffled by the choice of using the GNU autofools chain just to include a Doxygen target in the Makefile. The whole thing is essentially straight up C with just 1 library dependency. The command line argument processing is also quit

With Go using 20 times less memory, I'd take Go any day since I can just throw in 20 more processes and up my throughput 5-10x. But of course, scaling like this takes a bit of design and the processes have to share nothing.

Backbone's View is incredibly slow and is very ill-suited for views that need 1000+ of them on a single page. The reason is not so much Backbone's code is particularly inefficient but the fact that Backbone.View creates a separate a jQuery

This only works if the CDN actually returns 4xx or 5xx codes. This still won't work if the CDN is getting DDOS'ed, as in taking forever to return anything.
