telnetd probably doesn't have too many eyeballs, so I wouldn't be too confident about it really. Whatever eyeballs are focused on telnetd are less likely to be ones who take security as a major concern.

In the past this has happened to me because I have a "givenname.surname@gmail.com" email address and a relatively common name. The other people frequently misspell or forget their email address and end up with mine. I get occasi

You get potentially poorer cache performance because your alignment value is wrong. Depending on how you used the value, I suppose.

So ... it's all Kubrick's fault? The film didn't come out until half way into that century. And now we have generations who've never heard of it.

Wow, I'd previously scoffed at anti-fluoridation stuff, thinking that everyone who made these claims sounded like General Ripper. But this was an interesting historical perspective. But ... what then keeps us in the status quo of fluor

I wonder if Rust would be better off with a BDFL. It sounds like the antithesis of some of the governing goals that were established but perhaps it would deliver some consistency.

I think you can read your boss - if they look pissed that you don't disclose the name or they keep asking - that's pretty plain. Is Cain responsible for the quality? Yes. But IMO the boss should have delegated handling of the issu

Sure. Some of the C library functions are red-hot code that is a bottleneck for many programs (memcpy is a striking example, but sometimes strcpy variants are too). So popular C libraries like musl, glibc, bionic, etc - they sometimes cre

My only beef with LLVM's libc is that it does not permit specialization of things (like memcpy) with assembly implementations. Of course -- I get the goal, we want to be able to use sanitizers and the like to validate the implementati

Do code size, instruction scheduling and register allocation matter to you? Do you have an alternative to LLVM that only provides those four architectures? If not, you can constrain the scope of your LLVM build using -DLLVM_TARGETS_TO_BUIL

The architecture specific backends are another significant part of the compiler, including architecture specific optimizations. I suppose one of the reasons you might think of the llvm project as monstrous is because it's feature-rich.
