If anyone here has only worked in the EU and wants to see what the US layoff process is supposed to be on a good day, just watch the movie Margin Call and the scene where Eric Dale is called into the office by HR to be fired. There's

Who are they going to sue in that scenario? They can't go after every user who pays with a throwaway card.

But here's what I don't understand about this: wouldn't that be the company revoking the offer, not the employee? If the company revokes the offer or has "exploding offers" or whatever, that's a corporate thing

What do you mean by "reneging on an offer"? Do you mean simply turning down an offer? How is that a blacklistable offence?

Really depressing to think about, as one who has never tried to game the system.

I think Colossal is betting on the fact that the general public will fall for sensationalism of this sort because of the low level of biology knowledge. This story makes me think Colossal is rather better at marketing than they are at genet

The output of the command the OP mentions $ /usr/bin/rsync –version ...doesn't return anything referencing openrsync. I'm on Sequoia 15.3.1.

Yes, though I understand Kobo is working on correcting these issues with the epub format.

Fortunately, I had them backed up to a cloud folder. I remember almost deciding not to go to the trouble to back them up, but isn't that how it always works with backups? The Kobo also works with epub.

A Kobo would be a great choice. I use a Kobo Libra 2 and love it a lot more than my old Kindle Paperwhite that got stolen: https://gl.kobobooks.com/products/kobo-libra-2 The Kobo Sage is also good because it has an 8&q

Yeah, a classical guitar fretboard is a lot wider. It makes complex chord fingerings easier. I suppose a lot depends on how easily you can switch back and forth between a wide neck and the narrower electric guitar necks. Some people can; ot

Or just use a nylon string, classical style or "Spanish" guitar for practice, even if you play something else in public. Nylon string guitars are easier on your fretting hand and allow you to practice longer without fatigue.

I came here to say something similar to this. The action on most electric guitars (assuming they're set up properly) is a lot more forgiving for beginners than steel-string acoustics which are often set up with higher action in order t

Especially when you consider that it's gotten to the point where at many schools with the worst and most extreme administrative bloat, there is one non-teaching, bureaucratic administrator for every student.

I find that people tend to overestimate how long it takes to install Arch just because it doesn't have an installer by default. I've seen people with very little Linux experience get it up and running in less than 30 minutes.
