Where did all of their jobs go? Also, aren't they experimenting with self driving vehicles so that those people don't have to work those kinds of jobs?

Independent fact checking seems like a great idea. Discrepancies in news stories should absolutely be pointed out. But I'm hesitant about the idea of having an "established party to assess the accuracies of what is being said"

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian either and I've got chickens right now living exactly as you describe (as egg-laying pets, two of them going on 6 years old now). They also cut back on food waste since they'll eat most scraps an

Yep, there's a bag ban here in Austin. Stores can't hand them out.

I get that. I'm just saying that it wouldn't look as bad if they just didn't ask for the permissions upfront. If I'm about to take a picture for the first time using it then I'll understand it asking for camera acce

I agree. Mostly because they're asking for all of those permissions prematurely. What if I never want to share my location, take pictures, or send files? And then some things, like calendar access, aren't even used right now.

This solves an issue I've been having where the Daydream headset has small rubber knobs that accidentally press the address bar or bottom of the screen when a Pixel phone is inserted. Not to mention the NFC causing the phone to launch

Exactly. I'm sure there will be room for a locally produced software stand at the farmers market.

I'm sticking with software development. If the robots ever get better at writing their own software than us then we'll have other problems to worry about besides work :) Plus there's a chance that it will open up a market for

How do physical resources factor into this? Suppose we practically eliminate labor and manual production processes using machines. Consumers won't be able to trade their own labor for resources as most of them do now (since automated l

But if social status has an impact on sexual selection or individual survival then it does have something to do with genetics. It's a selective pressure meaning that genetics will likely drift in that direction.

Good idea. I solved that one by using a "protocol relative url" (omitting the http[s] part).

That is weird. There was that "Twitter Could Have Become a Protocol" thread just recently. Maybe people feel saturated? ... Still, it does seem down (along with a few others).

There are digital records more than just a tally. Sure, maybe it's possible (with physical access) to destroyed or altered them, but the same holds for paper.

Exactly. You could tamper with most systems if you had that much physical access, including paper counts. Which is why there are procedures in place to minimize that potential. Plus an attack like this would be isolated to the single machin

I only read the Google Voice transcripts for comedic value. And if you approach it that way they're usually pretty funny. "Hi Davy, thank you so much" becomes "Hey baby, I think so much". Brightens my day.

Ah, see, I don't view atheism as a community or as a political movement. It's just a personal believe (or lack thereof). And I don't see any evidence that this has declined.
