Great read. I knew as soon as I saw EBITDA that Amazon would be used as an example, but the savings for prepaying for beef blew me away.

Not an expert, but it could be that if the radius of a quark star grows slowly enough, then a very massive one would have a schwarzchild radius that is bigger than the star, making it a black hole but without a collapsed singularity.

Wonderful article. I’m seeing two Nobels awarded for research into immunotherapy. Best of all, immunotherapy probably saved my sister from stage 4 cancer.

"Multiverse Analysis" is a terrible name, that can only introduce confusion, even if it increases readership. This methodology is more about machine learning than it is about covering all possible worlds. I'm also suspicious

I think LISA Pathfinder showed that it's possible to phase lock lasers over very long distances as long as they are in a stable orbit. It's basically a metal cube in freefall surrounded a proximity sensor, so that as the sensor dr

We can feel superior to the past, but by the same logic, how will the past judge us? I suppose it depends on what problems we manage to solve in the future; i.e. the future will have a lot of the same problems we have today, but which ones?
