Vercel is so overpriced on their hosting plans that they can afford that to attract new customers, I guess.

I don't think we can say it's been "handled well" when the customer had to rant on social media to get CEO attention. If OP didn't had any followers or else, Vercel would probably had done nothing.

Lots of GPU Clouds around. To play with toys I use runpod's community cloud. Very affordable.

The author refers to "psychedelic pyrotechnics of my particular story" so i'd say some LSD/LSD RC/Shrooms.

Maciej definitely pushed back the obesity on Pinboard even more since his 2015 talks- now, most features doesn't work anymore:) /s (almost). Anyhow: an old classic and very good article. Miss (2015) in the title.

I have had the exact same discussion as we're having now many times since Twitter released the For You timeline. Never managed to pin-point to a specific behavior, everyone seems to get a different one. Not surprised than Elon's T

Twitter API uses oAuth for authentication. Third-party clients saw their keys revoked, meaning oauth social sign-in ain't going to work either.

What do you mean by "reload" ? I just tried on iOS to "exit" the app (swipe up in task manager), restart the app: it kept showing me the chronological timeline, like I picked last time. Also- this random behavior is tota

Ah! Yes, since they rolled out the For You/Timeline things, the apps tend sometimes to revert to For you randomly for no reason... One of my alts gets switched everytime, while my main account does not. All using them from the same iOS

Wait, what? Since when? I'm regulary reading using the chronogical timeline and I'm not seeing anything like you describe (I only see that using the "for you" algo timeline). Very concerning anyway. :(

This is not new at all. I forgot when the "For You" tab got deployed, but for a while my iOS app kept switching to it-- hasn't happened in months now.

Why the burden of making this google-specific rate-limiter should fall on Sourcehut ? They are a small team and a user-agent-per-repo specific limiter have rare uses. Google should definitely fix their shit, but when we see that a googler s

The guilt by association -which Pleroma suffered of at some point and probably still does, too- exists. I kinda think it's fine in the end. You are free to not use an instance that uses that kind of blocks. I kinda get why they exist,

I really wonder how the economics of running chatgpt for Bing's request will work. GPT is anything but cheap to run, IIRC, it requires more than four A100 GPU cards.

In current times you cannot really forget/ignore the background of projects. Like some parts of the fedi are quite agressive at it e.g., auto-banning instances using Soapbox. One may want to know this background while reading a softwar
