My recollection was that they ask for your health care number, but if you provide a correct one they don't have any way of verifying the information. I suppose if the service gets abused they will need to address this.

Alberta created a free 1-800 number that you can call to discuss symptoms with a registered nurse. If there is any hint that the issue is serious they tell you to go your doctor (or emergency). But for many minor ailments advice over the ph

AFAIK, GSR is really intended to support cloud deployment. So not a replacement for Google code. I think the assumption is that most folks will use github / gitlab , etc. as their primary, and mirror to GSR for deployment.

If you are writing "business" apps (for some definition of business), you should probably use a PaaS. If you want to create a PaaS, Kubernetes is an excellent foundation (see Knative).

Single payer cuts out an entire tier of administrative costs from health care delivery. This is not insignficant. It also provide more control over wages, drug costs etc. For example, Canadian doctors make less than their US counterparts.

We tend to view this as a technology problem. The real question: Why do we let governments get away with this kind of behavior? Fighting a technology arms race with the government is a losing battle. They can ask for private keys to be hand

A PaaS solution (like App Engine) would be far more appropriate for what you want to do. Unless your goal is to learn Kubernetes - in which case minikube works just fine. W.r.t. to the GCP console and tools - I guess it's a preference
