The explanation is largely the same as in the US: It's very expensive to run cable / fibre to the house. It's a natural monopoly. Having a US incumbent enter the Canadian market isn't going to change that.

It's not quite as bad as it seems. We have had a vanishingly small number of breakages as we upgraded from early verions of Kubernetes. Mostly just tweaking a few resources where the API got promoted from beta to stable.

Doesn't that prove the point that competitive app stores would not harm Apple's business? It seems paternalistic to suggest that consumers are too dumb to make an App Store decision on their own.
