Revenue numbers would be very interesting indeed. I can imagine (small) developers receive more purchases from the Mac App Store compared to their own website, since apps are very easy to find in the MAS.

If indenting gets messy, just put the block in a separate variable. I think it's a shame Xcode doesn't give me an option to put accolades on the same vertical line (Xcode indenting prefers the K&R(?) style).

The idea seems fun enough, but I'd like to see the same languages used on either side. Comparisons between different languages are a bit harder for me, especially since I'm not proficient in most languages (Java, .NET, Objective-C, Basic an

I prefer if SBJSON is an external dependency, since there's less chance that I need to modify external projects my own projects make use of. The downside of course is that not all external projects might use the same version of SBJSON, so m

I've come to realize I'd be more happy whenever I have more freedom. Freedom is quite abstract, but for me it envelopes economic freedom and freedom to make my own decisions in work. I enjoy my work as a software developer, but I hate the p

I guess the blocks-in-blocks code can get quite unreadable at times. Personally I like to store blocks in variables in such situations and add the variable to a function that required the block parameter. Makes code so much more readable wh

I'm not sure why so many people seem to think this is such a big deal. It happens everywhere around the world. Companies like Shell and bands like U2 do the same. It's called tax avoidance and it's not illegal and personally I wouldn't even

I wonder how this library compares agains Apple's Grand Central Dispatch. I guess they don't contain 1:1 functionality, but both libraries seem to be meant to make threading easier. I guess GCD is a more complete solution due to the additio

Do we really need garbage collected languages when technology like Objective-C's ARC transparently "automates" the use of manual memory management? See: http://clang.llvm.org/docs/AutomaticReferenceCounting.html

As a 30 year old iOS developer working in Rotterdam I earn about 43000 annually with a 40 hour work week. I do believe a should be able to get a bit more, as iOS developers seem quite rare in the Netherlands and I believe lots of companies

I've never really programmed in C++, but I have to say (as an iOS developer who's programmed in Java, Basic, C# in the past) I love Objective-C. It's really easy to write good, object-oriënted code in the language and it got so much better
