Yeah, mostly super long form stuff. If it's only 2 minutes it's faster for me to just read it than to open it in their reader Fwiw, I would use their app way more if it were better. Right now I use it for 1-2 long form articles at

Yeah - I've experienced this with eleven reader (I don't think you can gen text this long anymore using the reader app, lol) but switching voices fixed it for me I can go back and try to repro and get a recording....

You are going to see a lot of people (both hype and skeptic) tell you things that you can verify. Even while you have a screenshot verifying the opposite of what they are claiming, they will continue to claim it. For skeptics in particular,

I suspect the answer is closer to "one trans person preyed upon the trust and vulnerability of people in their circle" and that happened to include multiple other trans people (who were likely extremely vulnerable to the charismat

This is obviously an over-the-top response. I quoted what you said: > of course I wouldn't be onboard with whoever is committing a genocide And asked if you were familiar with these particular atrocities. These particular atrocities

Sorry what? I'm pretty sure HN is accessible in Germany. Are you trying to say there's some utilitarian principle where countries should allow companies from other countries to operate unrestricted? I'm a fan of free trade! T

Given how it is trained specifically (they didn't encourage it to think, they allowed it to) there was a lot of emergent behavior as it trained. Sort of like chess engines rediscovering classic (named) chess openings. See section 2.2.3

This specific law draws the line at social media. That seems reasonable! As a rough heuristic, compare advertising on social media vs on traditional tv. Note: we've actually (intentionally) reduced the effectiveness of online advertisi

This is an absolutely unhinged take. The US doesn't allow more than 25% foreign ownership of broadcast media. That's not some "free speech" violation. If a foreigner wants to say something, they have many ways to do it.

Sorry I'm confused by your comment. The American voter voted for Congress. A bipartisan majority passed this bill easily. The executive branch signed it. The judiciary branch confirmed it. Where is the American voter being sidelined?

The easiest real example I'm aware of is that there was a scandal around the Houston rockets and China (years ago) and you could not find their content or content related to them on TikTok. (You could for every other NBA team) In this
