Just missed that. They had been confined to the smoking room however. It stank so badly I brought my own keyboard and mouse in which could not be touched ok penalty of death and a fat can of air freshener.

Ahha I missed the "at least two" part. I can get behind that no problems at all. Now all I need is a USB-C hole in my iPhone... Edit: ok they come in NFC as well. There goes €100...

What happens if you lose your Yubikey? Are there scratch codes? It's bad enough now if your house burns down with all your iOS devices in it.

I only ever write it as defect / feature prefixed. I never write the resolution as I am fallible!

Still use an actual HP-12C daily. Been going strong for 35 years now and only had the batteries changed twice. Had a 15C when I was an EE but it got sold on eBay when I discovered how much money it was worth.

It's not in any errata. It's a complete misunderstanding of the problem domain and modelling. I don't like to crap on the authors too hard, but they are both hobbyists on the EE side of things and really shouldn't be wri

Comments about impedance and the BJT calculations were completely wrong. Also it suffers from having bits of information in little islands and no clue as to how to stick them together. One of the fun things in electronics is when someone bu

The entire content from this was open source and they built a community and advertising network around it and slowly devalued the content. I’m not sure what they did license wise with the original. The original source material is out there

I would stay away from practical electronics for inventors. The book historically was chock full of really bad explanations and mistakes which brings into question the author’s knowledge and credentials. You don’t see that until you look at

Completely agree with this. As a vegetarian I'd really prefer to eat meat over the synthetic meats. The reason being the texture, flavour and nutritional value isn't there. They're also expensive, covered in horrible packagin

Note that it's not universally true around the world. In the US, yes. If you do this in the UK, it will result in an evening where you end up ordering a taxi and slipping out the back door while two women are pulling each other's

I did this a loooong time ago before there was really internet dating. Had a decision analysis tool I wrote in excel 97. Married a match in 2002. She was a crazy narcissist and made my life misery for 18 years until I divorced her. Beware t

The big thing is the Mac Studio is an out of box config and the M2 Pro is custom. It's risky relying on custom Apple configs from experience as the turnaround for repairs is much longer.

16Gb is minimum on M1 I found. I hit problems on my 8Gb machine regularly. It’ll work fine but you do get heavy pauses. The thing to be careful of is if your custom config breaks then the turnaround to fix it can be a couple of months. Ergo

I ran thinkpads for years. There is a nice market for previous generation ones new in box with 3 year next business day warranties for stupid money. I got my daughter a 13 month old T495s for £600 for example. That’s still under warranty no

Pricing has gone crazy here in the UK. Paid £1899 for my M1 Pro. Same spec M2 Pro is £2199. Edit: at this rate when my previous gen one expires I'm going to think seriously about shifting back to ThinkPads...
