ConcurrencyKit[0] also has an implementation of epoch-based reclamation, which I've been experimenting with lately (with good results). [0]: http://concurrencykit.org/

This actually looks really cool, but seems to have no support for concurrent modification or access. I'm presuming that in order to make this thread-safe you'd just need to lock the whole database. Anybody aware of any thread-safe

Developer edition doesn't seem to respect the setting for default profile. It always opens its `dev-edition-default` profile instead.

The funny thing is that we reported this sometime in 2009 (might have been 2010), they "fixed it" and released a new version, but the new version only crashed somewhat less often.

In the event LGPL is too restrictive, there's also concurrencykit ( http://concurrencykit.org/ ), which provides similar mechanisms (both for concurrent memory reclamation and various datastructures built on top).

The log-time concatenation may be the real win. Still though, why 4? Why not 2, or 8? Is this covered in some of the research?

So, if I'm understanding this right, finger trees are just 2-3 trees with an extra array of 8 things per level (four for prefix, four for suffix). Does this really have a benefit over just using a 2-3 tree?

Embedded programming languages are really cool. Lua's still ruling the roost, as far as I've seen, but there are some nice options out there. I'm currently using mruby for a project and have been quite happy with it so far. T

It is really bugging me that I can't prefix ".table" or "div.table" to any of these, since intuitively that's what I'd do when writing styles.

There's a clean-room reimplementation that LMMS ships with called VeSTige. Ardour3 also uses said code for VST hosting. The effort isn't complete (they didn't re-implement all the corners), but it works well enough.
