That isn’t a simple question, is it. At best it is loaded and unnecessarily complex. Anyway; do I always? Hell no. Have I ever? To the best of my ability, many times, yes.

I don’t know where you are, but in the UK the Consumer Credit Act means it is very much not the consumers fault.

People who want to repair their own phones are free to purchase non-Apple hardware and do so. Nobody is being forced to do anything.

Oh right I see, yes it does make sense you’re right. I was really struggling with that last night, cheers.

Ok but that is three words, what about the rest? Leaning three words is somewhat far removed from leaning a language. (Btw: I can’t grok your final statement in the parenthesis — it doesn’t make sense in English, what were you trying to say

Pretty sure Fastmail do (provide unlimited aliases). They certainly provide wildcard aliases, including domain wildcards.

Not sure how this is relevant to OP’s post aside as an attempted hijack. You don’t even address the differences between the product you’re pushing and OP’s. If you want to Show HN something, make your own post; this is just rude.

I deal with Docker daily and don’t run as root and quite frequently am not dealing with a local Docker instance. Maybe you should RTFM, as they say?

Telegram clients are open source and have reproducible builds. There is so much FUD being spread in the comments here which could probably be resolved by sticking your HN comment directly into your search engine of choice. https:/

The only mentions of Telegram on that page also mention WhatsApp right next to it. I’d love to read more about the alleged Telegram hack/leak but this link does not appear to be a source for the accusations levelled upthread.

Because most people are not privacy conscious and just want their messaging app to work (including having people know they are available to message on said platform).

It is amazing how fast the goalposts can move to fit a narrative. So chats in Matrix are not E2E encrypted? The very thing Telegram is being called out for in this thread?

You may want to edit your comment so the links are not inside a code block (and thus clickable). Thanks.

No. The SNI is transmitted in plain text as part of the ClientHello but TLS does not care about application implementation details. The HTTP Host header is encrypted along with the rest of the request.

I see! That makes perfect sense, thanks for replying. I had to search about the arcing problems you mentioned, and I now have an explanation for the blackened pins on my older cable!

One of the things I don’t like about USB-C when compared to Lightning is that the USB-C socket has some kind of wafer inside it which strikes me as very breakable. I’ve not managed to break one yet, but why was it not put on the cable end a

It would be seamless between the Mac and iPad… I'm unsure how you would expect Apple to achieve it on devices they do not control though?

You can think of the AirPods being paired to your iCloud account, and connecting to any authenticated devices is generally seamless and very quick.

Seems odd, even verging on suspicious, to me that the police would be allowed to interview a suspect at all without recording the interaction.

Or, alternatively, the US is not the centre of the universe — tech or otherwise. I’ve been remote working for nearly 15 years now and am currently a simple PAYE employee on the company’s (multinational startup, oxymoron as that sounds) book

Why are you so angry, to the extent of blurring the truth, about something which apparently has zero impact on you? I think listing “need to learn to program” as a negative prerequisite of “want to build apps” is somewhat disingenuous.

FWIW re #2 if you do accidentally click on an iMessage contact it brings up the message compose dialog and you have to use the regular send button. I too shared your fear, and have accidentally clicked the wrong contact.

That’s a pretty disingenuous way to put it. Another phrasing could be “Apple enforcing their human interface guidelines”. To borrow a phrase: haters gonna hate.

I believe it is something to do with having the centre point on all three lenses very close so switching between them is a smooth transition.
