If you actually read down to the cellphone section, it says the cia/nsa/fbi have tools to gain access to cellphones remotely. Everything on your phone is up for grabs.

Strange, one would think they would move everything to .net core as it would be a perfect fit for it.

I guarantee you that if they start tampering with netflix traffic there will be riots.

Is that the one they use to remote exploit iphones? Or is that a backdoor?

I don't think most people care about physical access exploits. If you did you would have some specialized software which would remotely wipe it upon being tampering with. Common sense. What really matters security wise is who is this s

Do people really need to worry about other than national states with android and ios? Exploits/Viruses in these OSes are extremely rare in comparison to the desktop OSes and they're just getting harder to exploit. It's gettti

If the underlying hardware is compromised(it is) then it doesn't matter what the os does.\ EDIT: If you are downvoting me - state why.

I would say we don't care enough. There hasn't been any real blow back from the nsa vault leaks. The government has and still is monitoring all forms of internet communication in the US en masse. Now they want to implement camera

What does a thumbdrive have anything to do with what I posted? It's not mentioned in the story or what I said.

Why would the government ever do that?/s Did you hear what happened to the whistle blower that leaked vault 7? Apparently he had a bunch of child porn on his computer[0]. Crazy huh? [0]: https://arstechnica.com/tech-poli

Yeah but there's a trade off with that. I'd imagine labor isn't as cheap as it used be(especially in China).

Wouldn't correcting the large trade deficit between China and the US result in a net job increase in the long run? It would take several years but we can build factories in rural parts of the US(you know, where people voted for Trump)

This is a big reason. The cost of leasing out space is definitely more expensive than the cost of cooling these datacenters. Why spend several million dollars in leasing space when you can drop a datacenter capsule off the coast with free c

Appcode is a little better than xcode in that regard but still haven't found a solution to the typechecker problem that xcode has.

They should have conference just for the bug fixes in xcode. The schizophrenic typechecker is horrible.

Have you considered also implementing I2P[0] in parallel with tor? It suppose to be harder to analyze traffic at nodes with I2p though it isn't as battletested as tor. [0]: https://geti2p.net/en/comparison/tor
