I don't like doing this, but I've been in your position multiple times. One was my mobile phone plan, I wanted to transfer to another provider, since they had a cheaper contract, so I just let my current contract expire. Turns out

I've tried Triplebyte and TopTal in the past, and never made it past their technical skill tests, despite having 10 years of experience. With both, all their questions where either algorithms, or multiple choice questions about some qu

I'm in Thailand right now, they just suspended the Test&Go scheme, but they still have some "sandbox" destinations. Still accepting tourists.

There's obviously very valid security concerns sometimes. We didn't use npm audit, but an external tool. And often it would highlight things like "use https", and when looking at which line, it was just a comment that re

Reminds me of my time at a global bank. After many security incidents, they finally decided to step up their game, and implemented multiple security scans. For any project using NPM, it was an absolute nightmare. Dependencies 3 or 4 levels

To add to this, I don't really trust the numbers coming out of China. But China takes the zero case policy far more serious, with more extreme lockdowns, and city wide testing. They don't even want to open the border with Hong Kon

To give you an opinion from someone on the ground in Hong Kong, the zero case policy is very real, and it's strangling the city. Many people are unhappy with it. With an at minimum two week quarantine when you come back to Hong Kong, i

I'm glad I'm not alone. It's really depressing to watch people launch products and become successful, all while I'm struggling to even build an MVP. Hopefully some of the suggestions here help you out too.

I definitely have to fear of failing, not necessarily because it would mean the work I've put in is lost.

After writing out the process I go through, there's a lot of self doubt. And I guess it mostly revolves around thinking that my idea isn't good enough, or that people might not want to use my product. And often also that I'll

Ok, I understand what you mean. But that's very much not true. Because when I look at what the eventual end goal is, i.e. having a side project turn into my full time job, that's very much the life I want. Being able to do my own

I guess that's the reason why they took eSim away on the iPhone 12 in Hong Kong, despite previous models having it. I used to have my main number as an eSim, and then inserted a travel SIM. Had to convert my eSim back to a real SIM car

Not sure how that’s different from my current “monolith” with a puppeteer micro service. But either way, seems that my thinking with adding a micro service was kind of okay.

That's fair, maybe I'm already planning to far ahead. But I ended up using RabbitMQ and Node (since i wanted to use Puppeteer for this, I actually needed to render the webpage).

Doesn’t this highly depend on your use case? For example, right now I’m building a system that will take in a URL, crawls the webpage, and does some processing on the data. The whole process takes a good 10 seconds. I designed this as a mic

Like I said, they've refunded the 10% service fee that they normally take, and this was only after pointing out that the owner had broken their TOS. The other 90% is still lost, and they claim there's nothing they can do about it.

Oh, I thought the 3rd gen had the same kind of fit as the 2nd gen? I do like the pros for when I'm working, the noise cancelling is really great. But I can't use them for exercise, since they just fall out so easily.
