Consider how you'd phrase it if your comrade were standing next to you instead of being on the Internet. I understand your point that git is git. The code wouldn't be lost. But it would be an undeniable several months of chaos if

Cool, I'll have to take a look. Qualys SSL labs has a cool set of tools to output not only the supported versions/ciphers, but shows what OS/browser combos would be able to connect to the site. Good work.

Well if the vanilla is itself ugly and polarizing, perhaps it's best that a distro take the initiative to make it better. As long as KDE retains its flexibility to make the desktop how you like it, why not try to make it better by defa

That is a truly awful blog layout. So much whitespace, and what appears to be around a 40 character line limit. I see the point is made once the license is pasted in a few times, but still frustrating. For all that, the post has a valid que

From the context, it sounds like he was asked to join a linux distro security mailer, which wouldn't make sense. Isn't there an OpenSSL mailer for this stuff?

Is it really that hard to have a vulnerabilities mailer for important stuff?

If you mean globally, then it should be obvious that banks, private research institutes and other sensitive workspaces are NOT going to use an off-premise code hosting solution.

As a mid-20s middle class guy, it's the only airline I fly. No-nonsense, good price, friendly people. No, it's not luxury seating, but I really like flying with them. They also haven't screwed up connections or held up my bag

Even 4.1 was much better than 4.4 - all the migration from text and contoured buttons to symbols. an open eye for "turn off snooze" on the alarm is indicative of what I think is really poor design.

You are completely ignoring the explicit harm that is central to the GPL. Namely, that if everyone behaved the harmless way you and VMWare describe, there would be very little/lower quality GPL software. And, that GPL contributors give

I agree with you - it's like having one NIC to the internet, one to a big LAN switch with every other device. No surprise for me... especially when the touted benefit has never been privacy, but cheaper network costs. I suppose they co

The quip about everything being available to the news is not accurate. These are the sorts of records - only for official communications, mind you - that are only meant to come out years later (similar to classified docs) or in the case of

Are seatbelts and airbags broken because people still die in crashes? Most security mechanisms can be circumvented by a sufficient state actor. For most purposes, when not being targeted, Tor does its job.
