Not the OP but I use mine a lot too. I use them with Samsung DeX and a foldable keyboard. Means I functionally have a desktop computer with me all the time. It's pretty amazing.

This is true. I use my quest 3 for adult content all the time and it honestly adds a lot. It's the one thing where immersion really adds value. It's like you're there yourself, especially if you have a toy that can synchronis

Has it been 20 years already? Wow. Yeah it was a good one (though a little too gritty for me sometimes)

It depends I guess. I really like my foldable. Got it for 500€ on a special deal. It's really nice to have a tablet always with you. I live in a warm country so I don't usually wear a coat or a big bag. Also, on android there'

I remember piping up about all those things. But the excuses were everywhere. - Oh but you can turn it off so it's no issue (secure boot). Well yeah but more and more stuff just won't run then (eg iOS apps on Mac). It will become

Maybe because of a paradigm shift to short videos, but neither can replace Youtube's actual long-form video service.

True, I do see a thriving ecosystem here in Europe for some more fringey types of acts. There's like resident advisor ( https://ra.co ), XCEED ( https://xceed.me ) . Probably because some events don't meet

Why hasn't there been a real competitor to youtube yet? Similar question. Some markets really are screwed.

The neoliberal party VVD love involving private businesses in government operations, they considered that a win-win. France is a lot more socialist luckily.

Well yeah but those are more hardened and also the keys alone is generally not enough because they are asymmetric. So the private part is kept somewhere on some HSM.

I use a hardware router with really nice encryption offloading that does not support wireguard but does support openvpn natively. This router is in front of my 'arrrrr' subnet at home, where all my leeching servers live. This way

Maybe the term is wrong but I really disliked this move. They should just have taken more active measures to combat abuse, which is something all providers have to deal with. One example: They could have done port forwarding just on UDP. Wh

They are very comparable from a privacy standpoint IMO. A search engine and a VPN both get quite a lot of insight in your interests and browsing habits because a lot of browsing sessions start with a search.

It's not really a thing. We all know flying is a really bad thing and still the skies are full of planes also in Europe. It's just an extra factor to take into account. Like, when you can choose another solution that does not have

Well Mullvad stopped providing port forwarding, which is necessary for good torrent support (especially if you use public torrents and you need ones that aren't seeded a lot). They also stopped supporting openvpn which I need. Wireguar

I know how WS2812's work :) Like I said I use them. My question was why use bare LEDs with a separate PWM controller like QuinnLED instead of WS2812. But yes size could be an issue. Long strings of WS2812 tend to get slow and if they a

Interesting. Being EU-based is a huge plus over Kagi in my opinion. I also like that they don't ask any personal data, even email address. I like services that don't want any personal details. Like with Mullvad, where they just gi

Yes but as far as I understand the OP is not doing that, they are just using raw LEDs with power drivers and the whole shebang that is so nicely built into the ws2812s for us. Otherwise they wouldn't need these components they're

I mean a power controller. This is part of every WS2812 itself but with regular LEDs (be it RGB or not) you need power drivers for it, which I call the 'controller' too. You need to drive them at a certain amperage, then PWM them

Yes but these don't need controller hardware. The OP is using a dedicated controller and I was asking why.
