1) No, but the tracking needed for targeted ads is also behind a consent wall. I'm just saying that just because other services are also owned by Google, they can not use that data for ads in youtube without permission. 2) I think ther

They could but not quite as targeted. Which helps a lot. For everything else, there's uBlock Origin.

Yes it absolutely would and this is exactly what this proposed legislation would have done.

1) No. This has been covered. Google for example is already not allowed to correlate data between their services, they must ask for permission. This is why there's an extra popup on YouTube for me asking for permission to use data fr

Why is Google even allowed to lobby in Europe?

It's called a cookie banner in street language but it forbids fingerprinting just the same without consent.

Well it was standard on some computer systems. Macs as I remember, and most unix workstations. It was just not common in PCs but it was standard in more serious systems. It spawned some higher speed versions like ultra wide scsi 3. And it&#

Thanks! I still have a g4 mini and a g4 imac for old times sake. I moved off Mac these days but it reminds me of when they were still awe inspiring Unix machines. These days they're way too iOS for me to be interested.

You can do what you want with your quest too. It's android and you can sideload whatever you want. I was thinking of getting the steam frame but considering the component crisis it'll probably be well above €1000 and that's a

It would be great if this would work on the quest too. The AVP is just way too expensive.

That would stop a lot of kernel-based exploits but you can also do a lot of damage just as a user of course.

Eh they'll adapt. Simply using QUIC won't be enough. The cadence of VPN traffic can and will be detected. It might take them a while to catch up that's all. Best thing is to just not go to China, and if you do need to, to use

Yeah I wish I'd known about it before I got more active sexually. But I'm glad I got the vaccine eventually, I'm sure I would not have seen all variants.

HPV can be transmitted sexually and it is the most common way, but it's definitely not the only way. Once you've contracted one of the variants the vaccine prevents it is too late for that one so that's why they want to do it

I wasn't allowed to have it from the official health service because I'm already 50 even though I've not been very active in earlier years. But I paid for it myself (600€ for the 3 shots, quite expensive). I'm glad I did

We had similar idiotic regulations in Holland. Most people rented their phone though they did have a plug (albeit a special one we called the pigs nose). But in the 80s nobody gave a crap anymore and we just connected whatever we wanted. Af

Like the other reply says, this is not allowed in the EU. You can't just 'stay there'. They must be violating the GDPR if that was the case. Also their response has been really bad. It was basically them saying "oh well

Well considering the 4 bytes were designed in the time of a small research network between defense and universities, it's great foresight that they made it as big as it is. It still runs most of the internet to this day. But it's

The prefix is too long and it's not the same at every site. When I'm at a different location, the biggest problem is usually figuring out if they use 192.168.0 or 192.168.1 :)

Yeah but that ridiculous overdimensioning is something I object to. There's more IPs than is needed to give each grain of sand on this planet its whole IPv4-sized internet. That's just overkill. And the problem seems to be solving

They also got hacked recently and all their customer details were published. PS: From the millions of customers' details leaked it sounds like their market share is a hell of a lot higher than 17%!
