Microsoft isn't FAANG because they generally pay a bit lower. But they're still a worldwide powerhouse. Windows is extremely popular, and so is their office suite. You just can't license osx on non-apple machines and linux

seems like it's harder for sites to detect. For a while I was seeing a lot of "disable your ad blocker" messages, now I just don't, and the ads don't load.

I use it, the main downside is that I seem to have essentially no service at very crowded events. I think because it's deprioritized. So it can be frustrating if I'm trying to look something up at a crowded stadium for example.

I don't understand why they do this, but I guess it must work from time to time. Seems like a lot of effort to do the whole interview process and then try to get them to accept your lowball offer.

I think they have to get some kind of exclusive content. Either they somehow start recording hits and start a war with other streaming services for popular tracks or they have podcasts which I guess are sort of supposed to be like the cata

A lot are just focused on the next earnings call which makes sense I guess. If they work to deal with this "emergency" and it doesn't happen idk if there's a big price to pay.

Well if all the end up with is the best hardware that's definitely going to be worth something. But what they really want is the app that people spend all their time on.

Yeah, I guess where I landed is just subbing and unsubbing when a show I want is on. Sometimes I also watch a movie or two from the service while I'm at it. I follow few enough shows that it's not unmanageable.

I think you can do this on Amazon, but you have to "buy" the season. I did try this with one or two shows. But the price point is a little high considering I usually only watch once.

I'm also speaking from experience. Anecdotally I know a couple people with cars and both are kinda deep in Queens. In a pinch I can rent, but 95% of the time the subway works. In some cases a cab/uber is a time saver or helps m

In NYC a car is definitely more trouble than it's worth for a lot of us. I think the same is probably true in cities with a well functioning train system.

Every team wants to pick their people. They might have some ability to apply for other roles in the company but if hiring is slowed already there might not be a lot of other places to go. They definitely aren't going to randomly assi

Yeah if you're more effective in terminal then go for it, but I think you'll at least need a good web browser to fill in the gaps.

If flexibility and having an unlocked phone is important to you then you might just be better off with android. I've daily driven both. I kind of like the iPhone hardware a little better but android software a little better. both do

Yeah, similar but not so bad. Spent a lot of nights and weekends with drinks and friends. Now I'm finding we're not so well connected if we're not all drunk and you can't keep on like that too long without great cost.

Yeah I think it probably has some kind of warning on the box. I keep it around. Once in a blue moon something I eat hits me wrong. I don't really want to go out and find a pharmacy in that state.

I wandered into a "Pharmacy" that was completely homeopathic. I had the runs and urgently needed some immodium or something. It was like a nightmare.

90% meeting online? I think I read that like half of people have even tried online dating. I've definitely met adults in their 30s who just have never bothered. They live their lives and meet people through friends or happenstance.

I'm out of the game now that I'm seeing someone. I did meet her online but I'm now convinced that you're much better off just going out in the world. I think most people still don't meet or look online.
