Also .. I think that the Ukrainians are testing the prototypes on the battlefield and rejecting designs that don't work quite early. I have seen a prototype of a machine gun with auto tracking (reminded me of Aliens 2). Also the flying

No. I'm teaching my kids basic math for now. They can learn how to program later if they have the interest for it. Generally I allow them to follow their interests instead of forcing them to learn mine.

I do embedded development. I usually implement some kind of test system (on pc) that allows me to run systems tests of the whole application and for this I use a debugger when I don't understand why something fails. I also often debug

I changed jobs every 2-3 years as its the only method to get a proper raise in this country. I only worked 6 years in one place which was my first job. So this worked for me so far. I guess it depends on who you are and the level of shit sh

I tried to use this some time ago with my kids but they didn't find it interesting enough. I noticed that all the open source learning apps that I could find were kind of amateurish and buggy. I would pay good money for a tablet filled

I told a junior developer (to me, as I'm in my 40ies) to try to use a console based debugger (gave him my scripts).. last time I met him he told me that he was grateful because it speeded up his work. He was just using VS code before.

Scanning for Downs syndrome is default in Denmark where I live. It makes a lot of sense. You will get a probably of Downs syndrome. No one is aborting your baby - you can take an informed decision yourself. After birth a blood test is used

I stopped using (German) Amazon as their search gives me so many Chinese shit products and no method of removing Chinese sellers from the search results. It's not that I dislike Chinese as such, but there are so many bad products that

I only use reddit if some search takes me there. I deleted my user during the last protests because the reddit culture became toxic and it was time to quit anyway. The protest was the excuse that I needed.

I thought about this and wanted to ask if other people who had similar thoughts. I think that web is broken and needs to be fixed. To buy something I need to part with some information that is useful only for the process of buying something

Russia is not an European country. It requires running water and indoor toilets for this. Also not being run by mafia. The current conflict is going to break it up into smaller chunks sooner or later. I'm going to enjoy watching it bur

Russian propaganda is currently the most stupid thing that I know of. I feel more and more stupid each time I read something on X written by Russians (official Kremlin stuff).

I'm doing something similar. Amazon is Russian propaganda stupid these days and I don't hate myself enough to use it much.

In my case it seems the bank wants to have some kind of proof that I owned the bitcoin that I sold. At first they didn't understand what cold storage was. Now I'm trying to get them to tell me what kind of proof they want me to se

This is another example of a system which depends on input. These kind of systems tend to fail in the sense that a certain type of people can abuse them without detection as they depend on the info people give.. so they are usually flawed a

This is my current issues, but the more important issue is that cash transactions are being monitored - even small amounts. This means that cash is more or less becoming illegal or at least not approved by the people in charge. Edit: not in

I can prove everything using the wallet I think. The transaction was in cash in a public place. Fun times. Skat has a guide which I followed, declared and paid them. I don't expect any issues from them.

My current problem is crypto related, but the main problem is that banks care if you use cash and will ask about it. I find it unreasonable.

I bought bitcoin anonymously for cash 10 years ago and sold it recently. This is a huge red flag. I paid taxes for this and all is above board.

I will be switching banks after this recent experience with Nykredit (the bank being a bit unreasonable in my situation).. and will remember to use same kind of answers. :) The penalty is having to find a different financial institution.
