Now that you'll are here, has anyone tried timoni as an alternative to helm? I have it in my to-try-tools. https://github.com/stefanprodan/timoni

I just got a AMD AI 9 HX 370 with 128GB RAM from laptopwithlinux.com and I've started using zed + ollama. I'm super happy with the machine and the service. Here's my ollama config: https://github.com/woile

There are a few things missing I think. I think kafka makes easy to create an event driven architecture. This is particularly useful when you have many teams. They are properly isolated from each other. And with many teams, another problem

A 21 kWh/month it's 252 kwh/annum (I guess?), which is around energy label E in the new EU energy labels. If you go for energy label A, some fridges have 101 kWh/annum, which is more than half less! I haven't seen m

I think this is how iroh works. They have "relays" which are servers that help establish a connection between 2 clients if necessary. https://www.iroh.computer/docs/concepts/relay

You can transport your body faster by walking than by taking a car. But of course, this depends on how you design a city. If I have a supermarket 5 minute walk from home, is going to be faster than taking the car out, and finding a parking

Don't apologize, you are doing amazing work. I appreciate the effort you put. Usually you don't make assumptions on the host OS, just try to find the things you need and if not, fail, ideally with good feedback. If you want to pro

I'm building yet another Pomodoro app. I wanted something multiplatform with low resource consumption, using the native OS styles, so it integrated well with the OS, I'm using slint for that. It's possible to install with nix

Yes, it's a nice book. Especially if you are not a native English speaking and you are looking to practice your English reading skills. I enjoyed the book and so many of my friends. It's very easy read, and it falls under the hard

What bothers me: - it requires too much RAM to run in small machines (1GB RAM). I want to start small but not have to worry about scalability. docker swarm was nice in this regard. - use KCL lang or CUE lang to manage templates

it's the biggest painpoint. I got used to it, but still don't like it that much. I think there are some efforts to build some kind of VM so, in theory, you could put any language on top. https://snix.dev/

I've been very happy with nix. I've been using nix in the reciperium.com monorepo, granted, it's only me, but I'm quite happy with having everything there. From docs, to the infra with terraform, to frontend and backend.
