What's really annoying is when you turn on the CC subtitles and someone speaks a foreign language. The on screen subtitle gets covered with an unhelpful "[speaking Japanese]"

The early VGA chipsets were very slow. They also didn't have any of the sprite & tile features that Amigas had. On a generic 286 you could swap out the stock ISA VGA video card for a Diamond SpeedStar and the improvement was crazy.

You're supposed to let your car idle for 30 seconds after startup to let the engine lubricate. It's more important in cold climates. So delayed startups aren't some new issue.

Ontario retail alcohol sales are heavily regulated. The LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) has exclusive rights to import wine and only sells that wine at its retail stores. They reserve a big section of their stores for Ontario wines.
