Are you implying that having both String.prototype.substring and String.prototype.substr is somehow confusing? JS is in general better because by the time it came out people knew what to expect from a scripting language. CSS didn't rea

That's incredibly arrogant phrasing by both you and the author. Here's a better explanation of the hostility towards CSS. Nested flexbox had bugs in IE11, which wasn't end of lifed until 2022. The nested CSS in the article ca

When compared to it's contemporaries the 7-zip GUI is noticeably worse. Back in 2004 WinRar and WinZip were both clearly superior.

My favourite example of this is that for Babylon 5 the lawyers from Warner Bros insisted that the showrunners not retain any copies of the digital models because they were WB property and WB would archive them. When they started working on

It's low resolution plus the cards only supported bilinear filtering, which turns things into a blurry mess. Overall it looked better, but a lot of Quake 2 players weren't aware of a lot of the small details that were put into the

It's strange that they are ending Windows 10 support so soon after they stopped selling it. Windows 11 came out October 5, 2021. Edge came out in 2015 and they kept supporting IE11 until June 15, 2022. Given that the major Windows 11 f

Most web servers aren't doing anything computationally complex and there's a lot of tech to help you scale to multiple servers, so single server performance usually isn't really critical. Web stuff is about developer speed. S

We are fast approaching the point where new Nvidia GPUs only come as eGPUs with their own power supply and C14 connector. People in cold climates will be able to mount it outside their window for winter cooling.
