I agree, but it's not exactly the best look to complain only about instances of the majority getting discriminated against when minorities are getting discriminated against constantly

There are too many streaming services, people will only pay a recurring fee for a small number of them. Journalism is probably at the bottom of the priority list for what people would pay for as well, with the plethora of free journalism av

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of technology I have ever seen. This gives me hope. I can't imagine the feeling of finally being able to communicate after being trapped inside of your own body.

I know what a Google (engineering) salary is, and even if you're paying half of a tech salary to rent, the other half is still a hell of a lot to have leftover for your average American.

Do you feel those hosted solutions are worse than rolling your own website? Why stand up your own website and architecture if you can use off the shelf solutions? I am genuinely curious.

I left the Bay Area and purchased a home in the Research Triangle for 1/3 of what I would have pain in SF, and I got way more for the money. Apple and Google are opening offices here, and the area is relatively progressive. There are 3

Python easily has the best debugger I've ever seen in a language. ``` import pdb; pdb.set_trace() ``` that's literally all you have to do at any point in your code. Run your code in the foreground of a terminal, and boom you have

Do you work on high traffic websites? Surges in traffic such as these often expose underlying bottlenecks. Give the people a break, I'm sure they'll work on fixing it after today.

I don't think it's fair to compare a programming interface, which is more analogous to designing something like the plumbing architecture for a house, to a movie script, which is art. Yes, a well-written API can be considered art,

Sending telemetry _poorly_ can get expensive. A good client can aggregate, even compress locally, and publish telemetry in batches. Let's not rule out telemetry entirely because of bad implementations. I'd say the moral of the sto

Ideally some of that data can be aggregated and acted upon locally to the car computer, so that once an arbitrary car manufacturer closes shop, you can still retain the value provided by that telemetry. Sending it off to their servers and h

I disagree that telemetry is inherently bad. As product engineers, telemetry is often our only visibility into whether or not a system is functioning healthily. How else can you detect difficult-to-spot bugs in production?
