IPv6 never had flag days and was specifically designed for gradual deployment. In retrospect, overly conservative "ships in the night" routing increased costs and delayed IPv6 deployment though.

Yeah, the US is getting the worst version. We can't have federal digital ID because "mark of the beast" but you have to show ID to watch porn so a bunch of private ID verification gatekeepers have shown up.
