India is definitely a country to watch. With China's one-child-per-family rule, it could very well be India that becomes the new super power in the next 20-50 years...

As Google has become THE search engine, Facebook will be THE social networking site (which it already is). I don't think it will get bigger than being a social networking tool, and on the other end of the scale I highly doubt it will end u

I like it a lot! I use Omniwriter on my Mac, but there are lots of computers I need to work on that aren't Macs and where I can't install desktop software. @richcollins there are tons of good minimalist writing apps out there, but they are

This is very big for Square. The main issue with their flagship product is security. When every other country in the world is moving fast to accept chip card transactions a United States company comes out with a so called "innovative" prod

Hmmm fair point, also looks like Instapaper isn't registered as a trademark, 'Insta' is probably too generic, and paper is definitely too generic to trademark. Perhaps I should stand corrected.

This is actually a really good idea. I use Read It Later and saving videos I want to watch later just doesn't work. Big problem: Copying the "Insta" prefix just isn't going to work (unless you're Instapaper). You're using their branding a

Just because someone else is doing it shouldn't be a reason to ditch it. In fact, it could validate your idea as it proves there is a market and if your idea is better and your vision greater you could have a success on your hands (just lo

Lifehacker came out with a 'Learn to Code' series a few months ago ( http://lifehacker.com/#!5744113/learn-to-code-the-full-begin... ) and used JavaScript as the language for the same reasons that imechura has given above.

Sure, setting false expectations will obviously do yourself a disservice. Not quite sure what your comment means with regards to building buzz and doing pre-launch marketing?

Maybe for speed readers that's the case. IMO though, life is too short to read mediocre books if there are better ones you could be reading (same is true of mediocre music and movies).

You should be able to carry the buzz through for a while, if you have to delay shipping. i.e. keep people updated via your blog/email list with promises that the wait "will be worth it" etc...

There are no cons, only pros (that is, if you want to maximise the number of users that sign up)! Building buzz is nothing more than a part of marketing, something which every business should be doing. You can think of building buzz as the
