Ditto! I was a fan, planned to buy it some day later (it’s a bit expensive for my use case of mostly reading, I utilise old Kindle for that).

I think about battery being the very dangerous thing to leave on 24/7, especially if that’s some remote location (like attic), or at home, but when you do not work from home. It may be dangerous, plus the battery may die pretty quickly

I have some 32-bit systems (arm and x86), and it looks like I’m going to use them till the hardware breaks. The old x86 system is power hungry and inefficient, but the thing is, I power it on very occasionally. Like for half a day once a mo

So, you are not going to unflag, undead the comment you killed, right? The one you are sorry about, claiming you misinterpreted them. Just curious, not trolling.

Well, I guess commenting what I really think about … this … would bring this dang moderation in here. I’d say it’s just mediocre. Yeah, maybe it fits the current thing very well.

I don’t know for sure, I need to confirm it, but it feels like my similarly specced Arch machine would just shrug at it. It’s a 10 years old PC, yet it feels like it’s a non issue for it to handle this. I bet my MacBook Pro from 2014 (with

You missed ‘I guess’ in the quote, but anyway. The idea is that the parent commenter said about the intent to sell the company, and I’ve got the impression it’s a day-one intention. Like, we’re building a company to sell it. So if I’m plann

And if you not going to sell it from the day one, but rather deliver something you promised to deliver (not necessarily promised to others), you may want to use a set of self-hosted tools. I guess.

As I’ve stated, have no idea if that’s the case. Might have been slashdotted. Having a .eu domain and Russian host are two different separate things, as you might knew. I was talking about the latter.

Might not load if you’re in Ukraine and the location of the server you’re trying to access is in Russia. Blocked on the country level. Works very well for me, I can easily distinguish someone trying to pretend they are in the EU, while bein

Yeah, I know, and that’s why I mentioned that personally I won’t use tor network for downloading huge amounts of data, out of the respect for the network. It’s meaningful for countries where Internet is censored, and wasn’t invented for pir

I wonder why law enforcements in these countries do not fine people of torrents. It’s effectively a free money for them, it seems. Yet, more often I hear stories like these, especially from the not too first world countries. But not third w

What about torrents and Tor? Moral aspects aside. (Personally, I’d not do it, out of respect for the network.) Just curious about it theoretically, how this technology and its ‘moderation’ (let’s call it that) works.

Oh, I have a question to all of the people who pirate but live in a country where that’s illegal and punished (with huge fines, I assume). I’m very interested in listening to some stories of how it’s technically done (vpn, a seedbox, or you

Does anyone work with it these days? I haven’t heard of it for like a decade or two. Truly curious what’s up with it. As honestly, I thought php is long dead, but it looks like it isn’t. I remember WordPress as a much better alternative (in

Yeah, I think I remember that, but each time I’m puzzled and not sure. It feels like they hid that deliberately. While Arch is the opposite, it’s so easy to get the torrent file.

I say that as someone who knows Photoshop/Illustrator for ~20 years, and Adobe did very little to improve it for almost two decades. It loses to any modern counterpart. Figma, Affinity Suite, Pixelmator Pro, they are much better. So, f
