There are a handful of subreddits (for example, one for recovering alcoholics, one for legal advice) that have decided that their value to the community is higher than the value of staying closed. So I think if it does get extended then the

As others said, those are non-Reddit-operated spambots. But as for the names, any new Reddit users gets a WordWord1234 type name now, and you have to go out of your way to change it, so there are also a lot of legitimate users using those

I had to add a DS record to a Route53 zone just the other day, and when I did, I didn't see a DNSKEY option in the list of records. Don't count on that 100% because I wasn't looking for it, but I definitely don't recall

What bothers me about "hallucinates" is the removal of agency. When a human is hallucinating, something is happening to them that is essentially out of their control and they are suffering the effects of it, unable to tell truth f

If I can modify that slightly: The staff engineer isn't accountable for people that have a rough patch or who are assholes (and the manager is). I've found as a staff engineer that I definitely have to care, adapt to the rough p

For me it's metrics. We have a heat pump, so we change the temperature roughly twice a year: heating temperature in winter, air conditioning temperature in summer. But my Ecobee reports the temperature in three rooms (and occupancy, wh

You can get an idea of the challenge by searching Youtube for videos of "pilot transfer" -- keeping in mind that pilot boats are intended to be boarded from, and container ships intended to be boarded by pilots. (But then again, G

The Mini Cooper is bigger than you'd think -- same wheelbase and height as a Corolla, although the cargo area and hood are shorter. But the wheelbase of the Smart car (no longer sold in the US, by the way) is 2/3 that of the Mini.
