Transaction isolation would be handled like any non-database backed application: use your language and/or library's native thread synchronization features. As for persisting transactions, you could marshall to file the deltas for each trans

This is so true. The starting developer will feel an immediate response, without (typically) first having to install/configure the webserver, compile code, setup deployment scripts etc. PHP is definitely not a good language to start program

The universe isn't infinite. If that'd be the case, there'd be infinite matter, and therefore infinite gravity, and we'd all be reduced to black hole singularities :-)

Unless I misunderstand the question, I'd say Scalable Vector Graphics. A pretty decent format that's very badly supported in out-of-the-box browsers even though it's been in existance for several years. Consistent SVG support would allow a

Wow those numbers are bizarre compared to what I see in Belgium. Programmer jobs don't make much more than average other jobs here actually. Junior programmers get paid around 25000 EUR per year (before taxes) - that equates to 35000 USD.

My unit tests are mostly related to the core logic. The only UI testing I do is automated XHTML validation of pages generated for a test set.

It'd take me first to be convinced that my idea is actually viable. Which means the project would have to be in an operation state before I make the jump. But I definitely have the ambition to.

I'm all for Scheme as first language. When combined with the SICP book for an introductory CS course, it allows you to explore pretty much any concievable paradigm in a single solid framework. Sounds like a sales wrap, but it's really how I
