Look at the left hand sidebar of the article with the author info. There's a Facebook and Twitter icon.

Even non-long distance friends it's been a great way. The pandemic reinforced that. I had friends start playing games they never did before and I even started playing some I hadn't so we could socialize.

Jet was an acquisition though. I get they tried to keep some of its "upscale" shine but they eventually shuttered it for their own online offering.

So would someone have two or more native languages if they can change which one they formulate their thoughts in? I guess that just emphasizes your point or the article's point more that it's a vague term to begin with.

That sounds like a solution that wouldn't ever get traction in the US with the love of stupidly large trucks and SUVs.

The most annoying part to me about ads on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram is just how hard it's pushed. You get 1 piece of content in your feed before an ad. The ads always use rich media so they'll take up 2x the space of a typi

It doesn't help that the ads on Twitch are the lowest of the low in terms of quality so you have no desire to stay around. Also their way of doing preroll ads is just bad, you'll get to watch like 5-10 seconds of the channel befor

Love this feature. I've got basically all the bang keywords but instead of say `!g query` it just becomes `g <query>`.

Yeah pointing to what is essentially an issue only in a mostly unmaintained version of Firefox is really disingenuous and sounds like someone complaining about something not working on IE6.

Because HN commenters always feel like they know better and like to talk down on any changes even when they have no context for why the decision was made.

Right? Just because it's normal for C&Ds to be sent doesn't mean it should be because they're obviously weaponized by large organizations.

The show The Expanse has some interesting scenes involving loose items inside ships as well as junk/ballistics ripping through ships that this reminded me of. Interesting to see that fiction was inspired by the reality.

Fuck that, trademark law is broken if it requires something that "looks like" bullying. It's just bullying with some flimsy justifications.

Agreed, not just the monetization scheme but Spotify and others just push the music listening experience to playlists and singles and have very little room for albums and collecting a library of music you refer to.

It sounds like fraternities for rich finance guys but virtual. Some club with a steep entrance fee and status signaling that exists mostly to enrich the members.

I have tried to use VS Code a number of times but never found a reason to switch like I did with Atom from Sublime Text. Everyone always cites speed or whatever but I don't notice any slowness in Atom (especially these newer releases.)
