Again, I'm not saying it can't be done. If Erlang+Xen=Debug then that's great. But if we're comparing unikernel-VMs to containers, my guess is that most users are after the "take my $LANG binary and concatenate it w

Function boundaries, arguments and data types will get you a long way in my experience. Sure there are times when you need to look at local variables in the middle of a function etc, but half of those times DWARF won't have the registe

Interesting. I would think that they at least would want a signature from you. Seems harder to argue cases of tax evasion if you as an individual have not officially stated that you have no additional incomes other than the ones your gov kn

I live in Sweden. Just a few days ago I audited and filed my returns for 2016, it took me about 2 minutes. 1. Go to skatteverket.se (IRS), enter your "personnummer" (SSN). 2. Open the BankID app on my phone, which contains an X509

I've now reached a point where the compiler reasonably stable and you can actually do some useful tracing with it. For now, there's only kprobe/kretprobe and tracepoint support. uprobe/uretprobe support is at the top of

Xv6 is usually a good source to learn about OS primitives: https://pdos.csail.mit.edu/6.828/2016/xv6.html I have not looked at the filesystem implementation, but since it is designed as a teaching OS, my guess is

As someone who has added support for a few boards to both U-Boot and Barebox, I really recommend looking at Barebox first. U-Boot does have support for more architectures and SoCs, but the Barebox code base is of _much_ higher quality. Also

Yeah the UX is user hostile to say the least. Shameless plug: I've started working on a more coherent tool. Inspired by awk and DTrace, but it is still in its infancy. https://wkz.github.io/ply/

Shortest Path Bridging (802.1aq) Uses IS-IS to distribute the link-state db. And allows you to utilize an entire mesh, not just a sub-tree.

First, I wouldn't call observing the red light shift, figuring out how supernovas created heavier elements and so on quite as hand-wavy as "I read it in this book I found". Second, and most important, I'm fine with peopl

Interesting, I have never had any issues with it. One of the nice things about mDNS is that the only co-operation you need from your gateway is that it forwards multicast correctly which you can usually expect the switch silicon to do. Are

What do you mean? On a LAN you can simply use zeroconf with multicast DNS to do service discovery, like how Apple does with Airplay. Or am I missing some requirement?
