Not the OP but I think they mean those little phone booth pods. For if you want to join a call but you're the only one from that office so taking up a meeting room makes no sense. In our place they're tiny and stuffy (probably to

Oof my employer still lets us WFH 3 days. We actually signed a new contract for it just after the pandemic. They can't have everyone in the office anyway since they closed half the floors. If they mandate this (not sure where they'

Yes but even for a web service the attack surface is pretty big. Lots of obscure URLs and the code isn't that clean either.

Same here, though you do still have to expose it to the internet unless you use a VPN. I'd prefer something with less of an attack service especially because bridges don't currently encrypt, but I host behind vpn now.

The GDPR is being neutered anyway because the EU caved in to Trump. Not being chatcontrol compliant? That's a feature not a bug. Nobody wants that anyway. Just another stupid US lobby (Thorn). A big organisation won't be able to r

That is exactly what happens in WhatsApp though. Maybe the message isn't there anymore but it used to say pretty much exactly that.

Actually pkg install kde is exactly what you should do. Just not in capitals. But in FreeBSD 15 it will be part of the installer. However even an installer is too much to ask of today's mainstream users. I don't want freebsd to be

I need to tinker less because there's no distro maintainers that constantly change stuff. It did take a while to set it up but then it runs fine. I don't view my OS as a hobby, but I do want to have full control over it and to be

I love KDE. Especially because it gives me agency. I'm not stuck with the choices the developers made like with gnome that's super opinionated. And I find things easy to find and confuse. It's probably not for a grandma but I

The why is simply: because nobody wants it enough to build it. Otherwise it would exist.

Yeah if Sun had continued to exist, what wonderful things would we have now! But Oracle destroys everything it touches.

For me it's all the changes in Linux. Every time I upgrade they change stuff that worked fine for me. Another issue is many distros pushing their "invented here" stuff like canonical and redhat. And the huge amount of corpora

No I think we need to do more, not nothing. This was an interesting step to highlight the problem. I think Twitter is beyond help though. It's just another gab now. But it would be interesting for other socials.

That's one capability that was lost with the space shuttle. There's nothing remaining nor planned that can bring something that size back from LEO. I feel like materials science could learn a lot more about radiation embrittlement
