It's actually used for the new AWS SDKs but yeah fairly new.

Also check out Smithy from AWS ( https://github.com/awslabs/smithy ), the code it generates is much better. It's influenced by the new AWS SDKs so it has generator support for Rust.

Zeek can produce a lot of data especially with so many endpoints. If you want an open source low cost way to actually analyze all that data in your own cloud data lake, check out/follow https://github.com/matanolabs

Asking your VCs if you should do YC is a funny conflict of interest, of course they're gonna say no.

Very awesome, this should unlock some pretty cool usecases.

> Only 40% of teams have more than 1 AWS account Wow didn't expect that. Separating accounts is probably one of the most important things to do in AWS, for security and performance/development.

Isn't this salary really low? For comparison, a new grad straight out of undergrad makes like $150k at Amazon (which is the low end of comparative companies).

Clickhouse is not a good fit here, use S3 select, Athena, even duck db etc.

Can't follow this article, but there is a certain hubris to effective altruism folk that is rather off putting. As if to think fate is in our mortal hands. A charity of a single date with the right intention could outweigh millions of

They have a well developed internal system, recently theyve been moving to Smithy which is Open source. https://awslabs.github.io/smithy/2.0/index.html

It's pretty ridiculous this can happen. With building Matano ( https://github.com/matanolabs/matano ), an open source security lake, one of our core decisions was to store all data in S3 in Apache Iceberg tables (an

We're building Matano ( https://github.com/matanolabs/matano ), an open source security lake platform. It's a different approach since we normalize logs from JSON, csv, etc, and ingest them into Apache Iceberg

Exactly, getting started is easy but dealing with scaling and operations when it's deployed in a production environment is not simple, primarily because it doesn't separate storage and compute.

Clickhouse is great but the ops and scaling make it notoriously difficult to self host. If you have a lot of log data and want something open source and serverless you can self host, check out Matano ( https://github.com/mata

It's not bad, some things are just missing. E.g Night light doesn't work on Wayland with Nvidia drivers.

If you read the thread, its explained pretty clearly. Seems like a random network reset 5xx which will happen rarely in any distributed system. Doesn't really have anything to do with the GitHub repo issue is in.
