I though that refrigerating things in space was using a lot of energy because heat cannot dissipate in the void of space. Moreover, why are the energy cost 10x lower when in space you have unlimited access to sun power? Is it the cost of bu

Why do we build a valut ? Because we destroy the seeds. So why not spend time avoiding destroying the seeds ?

"near clone" is a bit exaggerated. As much as I'm a free software zealot, I don't think Octave comes close to matlab yet (provided you do anything a bit more advanced than the practical of some courses) See https:/

Tested it a bit on a 2000 LOC python file, autocomplete is sluggish compared to VSCode (VSCode completes almost instantly but Zed waits about half a second before doing so). I didn't configure anything so I'm a bit disappointed...

From what I understand, the model was used to broaden a search that was already conducted by humans. It's not like the model has devised new knowledge. Kind of a low hanging fruit. But question is: how many of these can be reaped ? Hop

isn't it perfectly valid to pass None to that function ? It's not like python enforces types at runtime nor at compile time. Right ?

I use KDE on my home PC since about a 15 years, exclusively. I like it a lot but it still has some rough edges here and there. For example, the network config interface is a bit messy. Sure you can configure many things with it, but it'

Free software will win in the long run. But it depends on what you call "win". For me it means that, provided idealsim is still a thing, there will be dev/scientists that will want to open knowledge to others. They will write

That's a nice gadget. But now: raspeberry's company has tons of money and demonstrated its ability to deliver good quality, inexpensive computers. So WHY don't they make a linux mobile PHONE ? That would change a lot of thing

I like to test these models on reading the contents of 80's Apple ][ games screenshots. These are very low resolution, very dense. All (free to use) models struggle on that task...

I did try once. We're building tools for others to use. So there's no way you will build it alone. You have to have contacts with your future users. Staying alone is bad for your mental health and bad for your product development.
