Thanks to the author for the quality of the article (could have been a tad shorter but I'm nit-picking) and for the Steinbeck quote!

I've switched from OS X a few months ago and I'm actually happier with KeePassX than with 1Password. I hated AgileBits for the 4.0 bloat redesign which made everything slower (this is a constant on OS X it seems). I have a pretty

Thanks for the link. I'm not a KDE person and never have been, but this is a great tool. I haven't been able to write a calculator nor a dictionary with my setup, for instance. I don't miss them that much from Alfred, but I w

Opera's whole UI is hidpi enabled, unlike with FF and Chrome. You might want to give it a try.

I switched a few weeks ago because I was tired of OS X, too. I tried every distribution out there and the one I've kept is Debian Jessie. Debian is great in that it's a simple and stable Gnome experience. Linux can be much more da

That's a good question and something I would have elaborated on if it wasn't for the 2'000 characters limit. I find these companies either by visiting websites I've been a happy client of (and who are in a niche I'm

I know, my original post was much longer but I had to trim it to 2'000 characters. I've been interviewed by a good web agency who doesn't have anything for me right now but who said they liked my profile. (Luckily I don'

You're right. Can't believe I already forgot I helped a 20-something girl get rid of Windows software ads about a week ago.

Thanks for your feedback and some good links! Hope I get rejected by the companies I'm in touch with so that I have a few months to get into this freelance repair thing. I do feel like a freelancer and it sounds like I would be much ha

I've thought about improving my resume but I've had an excellent web agency respond positively to it (and say they liked me after the interview – no position for me right now though). So far I've taken this as a sign that my
