First, HDR is not available on the iPhone 3G or 3GS so those who didn't have a 4 would buy the app (and they do). Second, Posterous email-in a blog post is a feature that is available to any blog platform I'm aware of but what they did dif

"Possibly relevant professional events" are the 5-10% of what you need to do. Most of those events are just drinking and schmoozing with little benefit and even less follow-up. Have you identified potential places of employment? Have you

I know far too many families that have broken up because of "Daddy who is boring". When your kid says that you know that your wife has been thinking that for even longer. This isn't just those in the start-up space. Microsoft, in their W

The password is the simplest and most straightforward method of authenticating a user. Yes, you could go with a physical key (Near Field, USB, card, etc), thumbprint, eye-scan, or voice but all of those have their failings as well. How ma

I think you're going about it backwards. Let me get this straight: You're moving to a new city without a job and getting married in 6 months with 100k in debt? Yikes. You're resume and LinkedIn can wait (or be done on the side at night).

Why should anyone care? If you base your value of someone's opinion on their karma then you aren't really thinking for yourself. Someone with 1000's of karma points (even hundreds) just means they've been around a while, spent quite a bit

Your problem is one of team building. There's you (non-technical) and a "co-founder" (some technical) who aren't really communicating with each other. We've got your side of the story but not the other's. Then there's the lack of a good

Don't be ashamed or afraid to nag. Fire fast and early. Understand that the project you're working on is only one of likely many they are working on. Give early deadlines but plan them to be weeks/months before you need it. Contractors sa

Your second point is spot on... almost. It's still too complex. The key part is "Build a better bathroom". The problems with North American bathrooms, as they are used today, is that they are multi-purpose rooms. You got a bath, a sink,

I don't think first ideas suck. First executions may suck, but first ideas? Not neccesarily. I've had loads of great ideas over my lifetime that I never followed through on. Energy drinks and juicebars (me: 1994 now: everywhere), Hooter

I'm in the same position you are in... except was hoping to get word out and invites out at an event on the 1st. Just going to have to bite the bullet and let it slip. The tech is good but still has bugs. Not every hole has been plugged.

So did Mozilla when they came out with "Bespin" as in the "Cloud" city. Ah... so witty... immediately every Star Wars geek knew what they were doing.

You raise the single greatest most valid point yet! It's not about those who download it and try it. It's about stickiness. Now, Angry Birds apparently has its fans (I'm not one just because I find the whole genre bland) but I know from

I've seen several companies working on this but this is one of the smoothest productions I've seen so far. Not sure of the value of implementing it in an action sequence. It's too hard to miss what should be seen by facing the wrong way.

It was precisely because of Bell Labs that I invested in Lucent back in the mid-90's just as the bubble started going. Their partnership, I imagined, would lead to great things. Did well in the stock (heck, you could do well in any stock

V1 is not important as far as design aesthetic goes. It can be totally rough and made of standard components. Function is much more important. Then you can test it out in the field and go for customer acquisition. Once you've gathered fe

Actually, more like "shell assembled in 6 days". To build it they needed to first prepare the foundation which can take several weeks prior just to get it solid and firm enough to support such a structure. While that is happening they nee

I'm not sure people would hate Ticketmaster if their service charges were hidden in the ticket price. That they break it out and show you how much their "service" is costing you is what brings on the hate. We're talking 50% of the ticket

Define "unacceptable". I much prefer flying in Canada (or anywhere else) as opposed to flying anywhere in the US. I've found the whole process post 9/11 to be unacceptable, disrespectful, uncomfortable, tedious, and just plain unpleasant.
