Check out Open X: http://www.openx.org/ I haven't checked it in detail against your requirements, but at the very least if it doesn't do what you want, it'll give you the terminology to search for things you can spend more money on that d

I didn't realise that zoning and regulations governed parking spaces attached to houses in the US. I always assumed that would be something perfectly well decided by the market. Does anyone know the failure that requires regulation there?

That's an interesting one. Do you think it helps spot not only declines in processing speed or memory but also any potential loss in the "magic spark" part of intelligence where you make breakthroughs/have great ideas? I'm most worried that

Thanks. I'll watch out for that. It sounds a lot like what I've experienced to date and the drop off you describe is post of what I'm worried about. The first bit is weird though huh? I wonder if it has been properly studied? I know there a

Strangely, this was the thing that changed most dramatically for me work-wise in the months after my daughter was born (in March). The first few weeks are insane sleep-wise and I was a zombie. After that, I have found I don't need to go b

Try the English version of Yandex ( http://www.yandex.com/ ) - the Russian search engine. They just released it one day fully functioning. It's not a complete alternative, but it's interesting and worth a try...

Try http://www.awayfind.com for the email part. It's working brilliantly for me - it'll text, gchat etc. you based on rules you apply. It can also do a custom auto-responder based on similar rules.

Yeah. You're right. On reflection I think there is a problem much like termination in mobile phone markets where the only way to reach a subscriber of a particular company is via their network... I think my original comment was just wrong..

Why do we anticipate a market failure with net neutrality? If one broadband company throttles services in a way we don't like isn't there a market for one that doesn't? In other words why won't a competitor come along and offer a neutral se

Interesting to see the data on this. From a personal perspective, I would just add (as someone who has founded a company with one co-founder but not taken funding) that you should not underestimate the value of the support in taking decisio

This reminded me of information theory. The idea of entropy in information - that if you can predict the next 0 or 1 with better than 50% certainty, you can compress that information (or in this case, you could have designed a better sequen

Yep. And I know the smart SEOs behind at least 3 of those rankings. There are more big brands, but there are also big brands who are not ranking there - and I would argue that is not coincidence. SEO is evolving, but whatever the algorith

Heh. That's awesome. As an SEO, I know that we definitely don't see the extreme head as being "SEO free" - but perhaps we have different definitions of SEO. The people ranking there have definitely thought about how to do that (and done i

I wish we could at least have the attitude in the UK that talented people coming to your country is a good thing... During our last national elections the hyperbole against any kind of immigration was astounding to me (as someone who employ
