Is there really a market for modding a 7+ year old laptop? I know thinkpads used to be great (And some still are), but, I just don't get the point in trying to give more life to something so so old - most likely ~3rd-4th gen intel.

Sorry, We only do servers and high end workstations/desktops... I personally couldn't find a ODM that was high quality... all seemed to be cheap/too plasticy and would break easily... Unless you are doing ~5k+ a month and can

We are a MSP and are mainly a Dell house at the moment - however, we have found a niche in media and are constantly building mid range servers and high end workstations. On the high end, we can assemble a Xeon or i7/i9 machine, 64GB me

I'm an IT and networking guy... This is one thing that got on my nerves completely - most equipment comes as AC or DC, and I'm never sure what to order, so, I usually go for the AC one as it's the safe choice

I worked for an ISP that was deploying switches nationwide... We got a lot of space in BT Telephone Exchanges and thought nothing more of it. I have never seen such dirty and bad power! Literally once a week we had to go to exchanges to res

I can't remember the technical details and haven't touched this in years - but, it just wasn't this simple. It was something about the handover process from EFI to bootloader and it was something really awkward... We got it w

I don't know why this has taken so long... About 5 years ago, I was involved in a project where we purchased Intel based tablets based off a standard reference design in bulk for about $80 a piece - that included battery, cameras, scre

BMCs are scary as hell... even for people who say they isolate them, you also need to do a full audit as many come with rubbish default settings. For example, Dell's default config on BMC/Idrac (at least 4-5 years ago when I teste

Here here... This is a hidden thing that seems to always go under the radar. My Intel i7 4790k has lost at least 40% speed since I originally bought it, and for years, I always thought that Intel machines were getting slower without any act

Not taking a stance on what has happened here, but, I just find it weird in this day and age how you can be accused of crimes against a country you aren't in by doing something over the internet. Was it Turkey (I forget) recently that

One thing that I actually hate on Windows 10 compared to Windows 8 is the native apps - it is a huge step backwards. I have a Microsoft Account on my work (Office 365) email address. Windows 8 worked perfectly - if you signed in to Windows
