Bummer. I was hoping carsabi would take off. I used them to find my car. It was great. Especially the graph that tells you whether a car is overpriced or underpriced compared to all of the other listings. I used it to negotiate $1,000 off o

I don't understand why the market reacted negatively to this news. There are a number of positives: -They don't have to use FB credits -They don't have to use anything FB on Zynga.com -They got a guarantee if their is real-money gaming on F

This is a very good point and enough for me to know I will not be using Google for cloud hosting...ever. They shut down AdSense and AdWords accounts constantly with no recourse or explanation and customer support is completely non-existant.

Correct. And it seems people have only figured that out recently. Companies that really do only hire the top 1% are starting to post jobs that look like a whole lot more people are qualified for. See Instagram, for example: http://instagra

This is one of those rare HN posts that would be better to discuss on Reddit. I doubt the community here would do anything but downvote the most appropriate/interesting comments.

They probably didn't anticipate GitHub becoming a competitor and people including things in job postings like 'links to GitHub profiles would be appreciated - links to LinkedIn profiles will be ignored' - but that is becoming the norm for p

This advice is for people carrying drugs, guns, 'sex slaves' etc. It shouldn't be read as applicable to anybody traveling in Central America. Though I think one key takeaway is that its not wise to go driving around on desolate roads in pla

I don't see what the big deal is with this if it's for physical products. You'd obviously just verify before shipping. If it's for digital goods it clearly wouldn't be a good idea though.

This is the online equivalent of "protection" money the mafia asks for when they say they're going to burn down your store if you don't pay them. I applaud making it easier for people to file chargebacks but shame on your business model. Ed
