I digress, but the reason we lived there for exactly 6 months (on the day) was that we would be ineligible for Swedish child allowance after that.

I'm Swedish, but lived in New Orleans for 6 months in 2001, when I was 5 years old. I used to walk to kindergarten together with my siblings, 3 and 5 years older. Was that another time, or was that too much freedom for the US to handle

I almost had an heart attack last week when I noticed that a library I've used for work in the last year wasn't open source, but rather source available. Thankfully, my employer had some licenses for the library without my knowled

Finland was part of Sweden since 1249. What are you talking about?

I hope this isn't received the wrong way, but did you notice you started each paragraph with "I mean"? It is your choice of course, but in my opinion your text could live without those two words.

Say we would assume this is a complete real-time system. How would a result be late? It seems like a failure mode that doesn't exist in that domain (given that all guarantees are verified). Now, I get that this is probably not a real-t

I think it would be really interesting to learn more about the history of the region between ~Georgia and Mongolia before the USSR. It seems fantastic how the Turkic language group can be so geographically widespread as it is (there are lan

At my uni, it's pretty much solved by having the student's computer society own the most capable machines on campus (sponsored by Facebook if I've understood things correctly). If any one want something done, they just ask th

I did a PR regarding some rarely-used setting a couple of years ago, as part of a uni course in architecture. It wasn't merged immediately as I didn't write tests for it, but Moolenaar wrote the tests himself later, and merged it.

Do you know what happens if a penalty doesn't exist in France? E.g. Sweden cannot sentence people to a 40 years prison sentence. Could a German court sentence me to something like that and send me home to Sweden for 40 years?

I live at a uni campus, and use a pretty good bicycle. But it's in a sufficiently bad shape to pass as worthless. I almost never lock it, but use a fixed rear wheel lock that I put in an almost-locked position sp that it looks locked.
