The left side does not need to be zero, and it does not follow from the assumptions. The proof only uses the fact that the left side is an integer, since all terms are integers (a!/n! ∈ Z for a > n)

Zero is an integer. The point is the right side is not. Since it's strictly greater than zero and less than 1.

After that, Garrett D'Amore eventually returned on condition he be BDFL. See https://github.com/nanomsg/nanomsg/issues/619 Since then the project looks to be fairly healthy.

As an aside "nutritionist" is not a legally defined term. Any quack can call themselves a nutritionist. Some may have had some training, but it's not necessary science based or complete. On the other hand, "dietitian&quo

Wow, this is really beautiful. One thing I feel lets it down is that "text-align: justify" still isn't on par with print quality in browsers. It is getting better, but it's still a way behind pdflatex+microtype. I'm

Technically radians and degrees are dimensionless since they're ratios. More to the point, though, is 'sin' and 'cos' are also methods, so having 'to_degrees' as a method seems reasonable.

The 'a' and 'i' in this context operate on text objects . They're much more powerful than motions. For example, beyond the 'w' for word, there is 'p' for paragraph, '"' for double

Inkscape's tile-clones allows you to do this. It's great fun and gives you the full power of vector graphics.

If you really wanted it to work like a file system, you could write a passthrough FUSE module which pipes files through GPG before writing to the underlying file system. This seems like a good start: https://www.stavros.io/p

The GPS module can give you time, but it's probably easier and cheaper to have an RTC. E.g.: http://www.futurlec.com/Mini_DS1307.shtml

Doesn't GR conserve local momentum by construction? Since Spacetime is a Lorentzian manifold, the metric is always locally translation invariant.

At first I was amazed they'd managed to get it to run on a phone too, but it seems this new one uses quite a different technique which gets nowhere near as smooth results. The new technique is described here: http://research

As mentioned in the article, grouping can be done with Thompson-style algorithms. Backreferencing groups can not.* See the Plan9 regex library. *Probably. Depends if P=NP or not.

Nowadays, in SI, they're defined as constants: c is exactly 299,792,458 m/s, µ_0 = 4π×10^−7 H/m, ε_0 = 1/(µ_0*c^2). But these were chosen, based precise measurements, to ensure the (old) metre and the Ampere remained rel

The prohibition of faster than light travel (or communication) in GR only applies locally. That is to say, it really should be phrased as "two observers can not have a relative speed faster than c at the same point." If you'r

It looks like Jmat is using the series expansion (about zero) for Re(z)^2 < (Re(n)+1)/10, with z the argument and n the order. They switch to the asymptotic form for larger arguments, but they're only using the first term. To i

While this is a nice little derivation, the reason the normal distribution is important (and common) is the Central limit theorem[1]. This loosely means that if you have n samples that are independently drawn from the same distribution, the
