The point he is trying to get at is that in an OO language you take it for granted that all methods can call all other methods. However without such trickery as described in the article this is not true in the simple language with only func

Agreed, but I think the distinction is that the original book was talking about language design. Since languages are Turing complete we can always implement the features of one in another, but it stands that open recursion is not a feature

It doesn't have to be about immigration, that's silly. The US currently had supply and demand issues amongst it's growing and declining cities.

The anonymity is overrated anyway. At some point you want to turn your currency into tangible benefit like food or a car or drugs or whatever. At that point it isn't hard to connect the anonymous wallet with the guy who bought the new

HN doesn't need to be a place where we can "teach the controversy" about stealing people's money. Imagine Amazon raised money by selling people BezoBucks, but promised "BezoBucks are totally safe because their value

I think that is a strictly good thing though; it is a flywheel solution (almost literally!) because the more people buy in and work with that model, the more successful it becomes. In a sense you gamify the electrical grid to train people t

That's a different axis than the free will vs determinism debate though. What you are describing is your (and my) inability to convincingly prescribe meaning to our actions. Just because we don't understand it doesn't mean it

If you are using spring (or any of the less cumbersome DI frameworks) this is exactly true. Generally in Java DI frameworks you make a bunch of factory methods for your logic classes(this may be magically done through annotations). A single

I was about to reply that go seems more systems oriented, but on second thought that is really more of a self fulfilling prophecy. With the proper library support I bet go would be a great language for mobile development.

Google and Facebook don't (get caught) breaking each other's Terms of Service. I haven't read the leagalese, but I would imagine using Lyft's APIs to compete directly with their business is probably not kosher.
